Vietnam National Day 2/9: Citizens Across Vietnam to Receive 100,000 VND – SBV Coordinates Implementation

On the occasion of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2), the Government has decided to grant each citizen a gift worth 100,000 VND. This initiative carries not only material value but also strong symbolic meaning, reflecting the State’s care for people’s livelihoods while spreading the spirit of unity during a major national holiday. Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính emphasized that this gesture is not merely financial support but also an expression of gratitude and encouragement for the people.
To carry out the program, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) is working closely with relevant agencies such as the State Treasury under the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Public Security to establish transparent and convenient disbursement methods, ensuring that funds reach the right beneficiaries. Distribution will be carried out in two forms: bank transfers through accounts linked to the VNeID application, or direct cash payments to citizens at their localities. All preparations are set to be completed before September 2, so that every citizen can receive their gift in time for the holiday.
The Ministry of Finance confirmed that funding has been allocated and finalized by August 29, enabling smooth and uninterrupted disbursement. The SBV has also instructed commercial banks, particularly those connected directly with the State Treasury system, to prepare sufficient cash reserves, optimize distribution channels, and ensure digital transaction systems are fully functional. This comprehensive coordination aims to prevent delays, avoid omissions, and strengthen public confidence in social welfare policies.
As of August 29, nearly 20 banks have officially integrated with VNeID to facilitate the payout. Among them are major state-owned banks such as Agribank, BIDV, VietinBank, and Vietcombank, alongside many joint-stock commercial banks including ACB, HDBank, MB, Sacombank, TPBank, VIB, and others. The wide participation of banks not only guarantees nationwide coverage but also provides greater convenience for citizens in accessing the support.
The decision to provide 100,000 VND to all citizens on this year’s National Day can be seen as both a symbolic gesture and a demonstration of the Government’s commitment to improving people’s well-being. With the coordinated efforts of the SBV, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Public Security, and the banking system, the program is expected to be implemented transparently, efficiently, and on time helping to foster a sense of joy and solidarity across the nation during this significant holiday.
